What To Know Before Booking Trip:

  • We fish every weather permitting day, book over 350 trips a year and are 100% Full Time. This allows us to know exactly where the fish are each day and get you to the spots before other charter services.
  • We keep boat and tackle in top notch shape to ensure all fish count.
  • We have the some of the fastest, brand new and most comfortable boat in Venice ( 39’ Yellowfin).  This means we get to the fish quick and you get more fishing time. Brand new Yamaha Engines re-powered every 2 years – Reliability and Efficiency. Don’t chance your only day of fishing to engine troubles.
  • You keep ALL your fish caught within regulations. We clean and bag all your catch. Many charter boats SELL YOUR CATCH (BEWARE), we don’t.

  • Offshore Trip Details:
  • Trip Duration: Approximately 10-12 hours
  • Boats: 39′ Yellowfins
  • All fish are cleaned by the crew
  • Best time to book? This is a question that is asked a lot if not every trip. So when it comes to tuna. April through September is the calmest seas with hardly any trips getting canceled and usually produce more fish in numbers (50-90 lbs.) October through late March the fish are closer and larger (100–200 lbs.) This is considered our trophy season. The weather on the other hand can be a bit rougher with fronts moving through here and there. So if you want a shot at a true Yellowfin tuna of a lifetime, and have a flexible schedule then fall-spring is the time. If you don’t have as flexible of a schedule and are looking for consistent weather patterns and action packed bite then march to late November is more up your alley when looking to book. Either way We catch yellowfin tuna 365 days a year and every month has its good and bad days so there is no perfect time to come. I’ve had some of the most epic days of fishing in my life every month the year holds. I feel everyone should see the different techniques and locations we fish as the seasons change so In other words throw a dart at a calendar and let it ride!
  • 1-6 people per/boat
  • TIP – at least 20% of trip cost is expected. The captain and deck hand work very hard before, during, and after every charter making sure it is the best experience possible for you and your group and thrive on customer satisfaction hoping to earn your business for a lifetime.
  • Deposit required to hold your date is $400 and taken with a credit card over the phone when trip is scheduled. Deposits are non refundable if trip is canceled due to weather however they are good until your trip can be rescheduled. So unlike other companies that only give 1 year to rebook we understand how  things go and work with you to make sure you don’t feel cheated in any sort of way. We’re  here to take you fishing not take your money!

Inshore Charter:
Champion does not have an inshore boat as we focus solely on offshore fishing. However we are linked with two inshore companies in Venice that have been in business over ten years and have great success. That being said you can take the guess work out of who to go with and rest assured you will be fishing with some of the best guides Venice, La. has to offer by booking directly through us. Just give us a date and we will take care of the rest.
